NL50: JJ in rr pot vs aggro-donk
Villain is 52/35/2.5ish after 40ish hands, very aggro postflop, and has already been seen making a few bluffs.
Other players are adapting to his loose play, but only by calling too much preflop and folding to his pressure post (he seems to keep firing until he meets a raise). Haven't see him in a reraised pot yet though, though his initial weak raise suggests a less than premium hand. I thought on the flop that I'm probably going to only get 1 street of value out of a lower PP, and thought villain was capable of bluffing on 2 streets, so when offered a cheap showdown on the turn, I took it. Thin value bet on river, but I thought he may look me up with a lower pair. I smelled his c/r as FOS, if he has an ace/QQ/33 I've shown no inclination to bet this board, so why would he check it a 3rd time? Thoughts? Anyone bet the flop or turn here against this villain? FWIW I probably would have called a check raise on flop or turn, but my hand can't stand much pressure after that. Re: NL50: JJ in rr pot vs aggro-donk
If you bet river you have to call his raise. Best to just check and win $8.75 with underpair here.

FWIW its Party Poker so therefore I think a small river bet is good. DUCY?

Re: NL50: JJ in rr pot vs aggro-donk
I've gotta say I'm inclined to take a free showdown. If he's been betting at lots of raised pots beforehand, his sudden passive approach makes me suspicious of a slow play this time around...

Re: NL50: JJ in rr pot vs aggro-donk
I bet the turn in most cases like this, if called I check behind on river, if raised I fold.
Either bet the turn, or bet/fold the river. I think you definately need to try to get some value on turn/river in this hand. However once raised with the aces and the queen out there, you can fold. I fold to his raise on river. |

Re: NL50: JJ in rr pot vs aggro-donk
when a very aggro postflop player suddenly goes tight, its usually a trap. Your reraise preflop puts you on a small range and most of it is pocket pairs, so he is most likely checking in an attempt to make you think you are possibly good. I dont bet river cause wtf is he calling you with that you beat? I fold to his reraise.

Check behind river. What are you hoping to get called by?
