Call - most time you have him beaten - don't think any more is necessary here - if you raise that one don't think you get a call from a hand that dosn't beat you (maybe KQ).

i like how you played the flop and turn. on the river, i think it's somewhat close between call or small raise. his bet looks weak though and doesnt seem to make sense for any of the hands that beat you. i probably make it 14000 or so and hope to get looked up by a nut flush draw that paired the river, worse two pair and occassionally weaker that will talk themselves into a call because of the size of the pot.

I think you can get a lot of calls from worse hands here if you raise it up to like 2.5 times.
You are beat here almost never imo, a set would probably bet a lot more on the river especially with the ace coming.

I'm C Betting on the flop here in the region between 5000-6000 and hoping to take it down.

As played Im only calling on the river. I don't see the point in not betting the flop only to reraise on the river

How much has he got left after river bet like 22K?
And pot is like 35K or so....
MMMMm...I dunno it's kinda tight between call, raise and push...
Guess it sorta depends how tight/good he is....
I think push....just because the pot is so big and there is a missed flush draw outthere...he could convince himself to call with more marginal hands....
I really think none of the three are bad...

He doesn't have AA-QQ as he dint raise. AK-AJ, 77-JJ very possible as he had to call 3K into an 8K pot.

Consistent with a check on flop.

combination of bet on turn+river is weird, 4/5 of pot and then a weak (almost blocking type bet) on river ... So on river, I reduce his range to remove any A's, maybe he missed a stright/flush.

So small raise of 8K is irresistible for him to call.

Thanks for the responses.

If the hand had happened 30 minutes later i'd have played it differently for sure. I didn't bet the flop because i really didn't want to get semi-bluffed off this hand by a huge range of draws. As it turns out this guys calling range preflop is probably a lot narrower than it appeared at the time. He turned out to be extremely tight passive. He ran 12/2 over the 100 hands or so i played with him in the tournment even when he got really good chips.

As for results. I felt that the pot was big enough for a push (i was 90 % sure i was good). So i pushed the river and as pretty shocked to see him insta call with AK. I still feel that a call is too tight on the river, but the discussions of a smaller raise on the river were interesting.
