$16 Stars: two AK hands need your help
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (7 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)
BB (t4150) Hero (t1540) MP1 (t1850) MP2 (t610) CO (t1795) Button (t1545) SB (t2010) Preflop: Hero is UTG with K, A. Hero raises to t300</font>, 4 folds</font>, SB calls t250, 1 fold</font>. Flop: (t700) 3, 5, Q (2 players)</font> SB checks, Hero checks. Turn: (t700) 2 (2 players)</font> SB bets t500</font>, Hero ??? No reads. Im more concerned about the flop. I dont believe I can c-bet here b/c it would leave me with very little chips and committed if he came over the top. Is anyone going to c-bet here?. As played fold the turn right? PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (7 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver) MP2 (t1355) CO (t1420) Hero (t1610) SB (t1430) BB (t1520) UTG (t2040) MP1 (t4125) Preflop: Hero is Button with A, K. 2 folds</font>, MP2 raises to t90</font>, CO calls t90, Hero calls t90, 2 folds</font>. Flop: (t315) Q, 5, 4 (3 players)</font> MP2 checks, CO checks, Hero checks. Turn: (t315) T (3 players)</font> MP2 bets t240</font>, CO folds, Hero folds. Final Pot: t315 No reads again. Does this look alright or does anyone prefer reraising pf here? I felt like reraising would get atleast one caller and would leave me out to dry if the flop didnt come the way I wanted it to. Hows my line here? |

Re: $16 Stars: two AK hands need your help
Hand 1: All-in PF. 15x BB and AK = all-in.
Hand 2: Shove or call is fine. There's already 200-some chips in the pot and you likely dominate one (or both) of their hands, so shoving is definitely +EV. Sticking in a small re-raise to like 300 is the worst play because of the awkward situations that come up from there. Calling is +EV too - just don't get fancy. You played it fine |

Re: $16 Stars: two AK hands need your help
Hand 1: I agree with EscapePlan9, just shove it in pf.
Hand 2: I'm not a fan of reraising. Shoving might be good, I guess it depends on whether they will laydown something like 66-88 and call with AQs and stuff. I see them call their small PPs here all the time so I like a call way more. You don't wanna flip this early, especially not at the worse side of a flip. Overall I think I play hand 2 the very same way sir. |

Re: $16 Stars: two AK hands need your help
1: I used to do the same thing you did in this hand. I leaves your stack in an extremely awkward spot when you miss, so make life easier for yourself and just shove it in.
