Everyone at the table is pretty passive. being OOP and with the straight draw out there was I correct to bet the pot here?

I would of bet something like 5.5 here. Yes there are straight possibilities out there, but with this bet you are putting youself in position to win a 7$ pot or lose a much larger one. With a smaller bet you are letting weaker aces call in this situation. If a King or Jack come you can slow down, but I think it is more pofitable if you bet smaller. Also with the large bet, if someone has KJ here, they are probably just going to push and you will probably pay them off. You bet says that you have a big hand and you are trying to protect it.
