Default with a river straight facing an all-in reraise

Not a particular tight player pushes me all-in on the river.

What are your thoughts on playing the river?
call instead of raising?
fold or call to the reraise?

I can't belive he didn't bet more on the flop and turn. Though luck, although I think you should have reraised the flop, most likely checked to on the turn, then you should have bet big telling opponent you didn't want him to out draw you with possible flush. With your late position he could have thought maybe A,3 suited, or maybe A,4 suited.

Getting pushed on is exactly why you shouldn't raise this river. You have a hand with showdown value, but one that is very vulnerable. I would have just called the river bet. As played, fold.

I'm going to say the river raise is fine. UTG is going to pay you off with an overpair much more often than he'll have a boat, I think.

Nevertheless, it sure does suck to get 3-bet here. I'm not sure I would fold for $13.75 more, because it is possible that Villain is simply refusing to believe, say, that his AA or KK is beat, and you are getting 5:3 or so. (It would help to know how aggressive he is.) But I would be expecting to see a boat if I did call.

This sure would be an odd way to play a flopped set. He bets so small. Sure, flop small, that's usually a good hand. But by the turn he's gotta be afraid you're on a flush draw -- unless he's on a draw himself.

I think this is a call if he's over-aggro in the least. You'll lose bad sometimes, and split a lot...

River raise is still good.

getting 3bet here sure does suck though.

A flopped set isn't going to be afraid of a flush draw on the turn.

His bet sizing is a little wired. I think we have to call the river here, how can we fold?
