Default H.O.R.S.E Structure?

Whats the typical structure for a H.O.R.S.E tournament? Do they play each game in timed intervals or..?

Hmm.... why does Full Tilt not have their HORSE tournament structure on the web page?

Yes, levels in a HORSE tournament are usually timed, just like a single-game tournament. The stakes increase and the game changes each level.

HORSE is just a rotation of the games Hold'em, Omaha/8, Razz, Stud, and Stud Eight or better.

You can play HORSE tournaments at Full Tilt poker and Bugsy's. Several people here play them regularly.

Mixed ring games are common at higher levels as well, although they will sometimes include other games such as Triple Draw Lowball (L) or Pineapple.

I'm a regular on the Full Tilt HORSE SNG's and it is definately a tough game. You get guys who do well in their hold'em games get absolutely crushed in those things. Many good poker players consider mixed games to be the best test of a player's skill because they require so many different skills.

Quick plug. We're getting some good action on the HORSE SNG's at Full Tilt. We're getting them off at all levels, including 2-4 $216's a day. But I'm always looking to get a few more off, so sign up if you hate money.

The WSOP has their HORSE structure up here to give you an idea of how it works.

I'm sure this was a compromise made so that ESPN would cover the event. The elite guys want a big buy-in mixed event and ESPN loves events that are guaranteed to have a table with "known" big names. The buy-in is too much for us weekend warriors or average tournament pros and I don't think this event will generate much (if any) online satellite-maybe FullTilt will do something since they are the "home" of online HORSE.

Also, I believe Harrah's is running HORSE on the same day as super-satellites for the main event. I don't think Doyle and Danny will be worried about playing a satellite. Unfortunately, ESPN doesn't believe Joe Six-Pack likes limit games, especially split-pot. So we get NL at the final table

Sucks for people like us that want to watch Greenstein and Ivey and company play stud hi-lo and razz and omaha 8/b. Instead, just some more "gay" boring NLHE.

I agree its an awkward way to run the tourney, but I for one there should be a mix of limit and big bet games in mixed games. It would really get a true sampling of poker skill.

NLHE as a final table is definitely lame. What crap.

I like the structure otherwise; I don't like how in most HORSE tourneys the levels go up quickly so that you're playing Stud/8 for much higher stakes than Hold'em. In this event the two flop games have the same limit, and the stud games all have the same limit, for each rotation.
