It can cross your mind. But it doesn't change how you play the hand. (btw- you're more likely to be up against pocket kings... could be pocket aces out there... you'd think someone would have raised with those but this is .05 poker so you never know.)

I'm never afraid of quads but i'm often afraid of the rake. I just call the river raise here. Unless I know villian to be that special type of person who would a call a push with a K here.

I don't see the point in raising over him on the river.

- If he has an A he's going to call you and you split (gg rake).
- If he has something like 55-JJ he'll fold.
- A king is questionable (without reads it's impossible to say, he'd probably fold though).

What kind of hands that you beat are calling you in an unraised pot when you overshove the river?

Yep you def. should be concerned after he check raises you on the river. If you get your push called, the vast majority of the time you will either chop or lose. Just call the river raise.

In addition to what other posters said, you should raise preflop and bet the flop when checked to.

i'd just call the 1.5, only because a 4 is in his range JUST AS an 8 is in yours.

next time bet the flop.

Call river bet. He either has you dominated and puts you on an A and figures his raise will make you re-raise, or he has an A and wants to see if you will fold.

You either tie or lose here most of the time. Don't pay the extra rake.
