Default Hand versus Huck Seed Day 3 WSOP

Day 3 of the main event. Huck Seed is directly on my left with 280K and is the chip leader at the table. I have 145K. I played some with Huck at a tournament at the Mirage and he was pretty aggressive. I figure he will be that much more aggressive with the chip lead. My game plan before heading downstairs was to find a spot to use his aggressiveness to pay me off.

The third hand dealt I am in the SB and Huck is in the BB. It is folded around to us and I look down at 99. I raise the 2,400 blind to 10,400. I raised so much because I wanted this to look like a steal and hopefully have Huck play back at me.

It worked and villian raises it 25K more. I have 132K facing a 25K raise. Do you call, push or raise some other amount? Is villian's range any two or something much tighter?

Pretty much.

Calling and playing the rest of the hand OOP is not good.

What do you think his calling range is if you push?

Another vote for push. Huck's reraising range is probably pretty wide, and calling seems bad.

I guess I am the only one that feels pretty gross getting 60 BBs in preflop in a blinds battle with 99?

Raise less preflop, given your preflop raise size, I honestly think folding may be reasonable, if you raised to like 7.2 and he reraised to like 25 or .whatever, I shove all day

timex, the raise isnt that big. its like just over 4x. I'd shove all day here, and it seems fairly standard.

Timex, I don't understand why you would fold here but shove if there's less in the pot?

I think OP's line is standard and I can't see any alternative way of playing this hand, but in general I don't feel great getting 60 BBs in preflop with 99.
