Default the 99 steal

Villain is 11/11/3, but very small sample of hands. My initial read is he HAS a clue and is probably a TAG.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is CO with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">6 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB 3-bets</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Hero calls.

Is this a good call? Or do I want to represent something higher? HU is not my strong suit... if I have any.

Flop: (7 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">SB bets</font>, Hero calls.

I called to see if I may hit 1 of the 6 good outs. I am thinking 2 9's to win and 4 8's to improve. Raise/fold doesn't seem correct since I have many cards to immprove.

Turn: (4.50 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">SB bets</font>, Hero folds.

Ok. Having played the flop like I did. Is this a raise/fold?

Final Pot: 5.50 BB

I'm raising somewhere, I think you're good at least 80% of the time here.

Ack! I'm doing one or more of
<ul type="square">[*]capping preflop[*]raising the flop[*]waiting till the turn and raising, representing a third T
Also this hand is going to showdown. There's no 'blind steal' here on your part, the preflop raise is for sheer value.

Why were you convinced that you were behind on the flop?

I am not, it's called no cahones. I figured posting some people are going to help with the thought process.

I went ahead and put Villian on a range. AA-JJ, AK-AQ, AKs-ATs, KQ, KQs. I think I would agree on capping the flop because only the high pairs can be smoking you before the flop. Still, on the flop with this range it's a bit of a coin flip. On the turn you have an advantage in equity. I may have raised the turn and fold to a re-raise.

I wouldn't think of a card that improves your hand to a draw as an out. If you're behind you have two outs, plus a little for the runner runner straight.

If the guy's a TAG then he's likely pegging us on a steal, and that range is waaaaaay to narrow for blind defense. I'd say maybe 44-AA, Axs, A8-AK, any two 9 or higher depending on how much he likes defending. Maybe A2o-A7o too if he's really fun.

Whoop, whoop, whoop! Weak-tight, weak-tight, weak-tight!

He's defending his blind. If he had something REALLY good, he'd call preflop to trap you postflop.

Here are the lines I'd take, in my order of preference: call preflop, call the flop, bet/raise the turn; cap preflop and bet/raise the flop; call preflop and bet/raise the flop.

You've got to force him to put some more bets in before you decide that he's ahead of you.

Oh, and this really isn't a "steal". You'd raise 99 preflop from anywhere. The nice thing is that it LOOKS like a steal to your TAG opponent so he's going to play back at you. He also appears so tight that if you stay aggressive, you might be able to fold him even if he's got something like JJ/QQ, but I think that's a stretch; at the very least you should be able to slow him down, tho.
