Obviously its a very popular tourney so far filling up very fast. Basically in the 2 weeks it seems pretty much to be a crap shoot. All in 75% of the hands preflop, basically makes it the largest turbo tourney in history. First week got busted with KK when 88 pushed all in and yesterday was AJ v A7 on the bubble. Would it be better if the the levels were say 15 or 20 minutes, maybe there would be a little more play, but im sure they wont change that cause it would probably take a lot longer to play. Was just wondering what everyones opinion was on it. Not sure if i will play it again or not.

I have no problem with the 10 minute levels. This thing is, by nature, a crapshoot. For a $10 investment, this thing can pay off a huge profit if you can catch some breaks and make a run. It's not too often you have a shot at a few thousand bucks in a $10 freezout MTT.

I have no problem with a crapshoot for 10 bucks. Yeah my edge is lessened, but it's still there. It doesn't become a crapshoot until after the bubble anyway.
Even in crapshoots and turbos, the skilled player has an edge. Take advantage of that. Over the months you'll see stronger players have a reoccuring edge in this MTT. Hell, even high stakes players play it because of how soft it is. |

It's a crapshoot for sure, but I'm in for 10 bucks.

I played it this week and I doubled my stack in the first hour . I thought i would be ok but 30 minutes after the first break I realized I needed to make some moves or I was going to get blinded off. I don't like the structure, its basically a push with any two cards and hope to get lucky.

Also as a side note, it's nice that they have 70fpp sats to this for the small stakes grinders like me. I almost played in it but I hate turbo mtts. I really enjoy ds mtts with normal blind structures. I opted to play in the 20k guaranteed instead. I did pretty well. Finished early vs a guy who I thought was weak, shoved into him drawing to 2 outs on the river.

[/ QUOTE ] If you're saying this you're probably too nitty and missing spots, one great thing about turbos is even though you don't get a lot of deep stack play most players(even otherwise decent ones) adjust very poorly because they don't know how to play a structure as opposed to trying to stay at a healthy stack or waiting for cards to "pick off the maniacs". The edge of a good player is lessened but its not as much as you'd think, your edge comes from different spots though. |

Think of it as one of those daily tourneys at your local casino or something that's an el cheapo buyin.

What is the point of this thread:
1) for OP to throw in 2 bad beats. no one cares 2) for OP to bemoan the fact that its a crapshoot. no [censored] kidding 3) for OP to wonder if it would be better with longer levels. OBVIOUSLY our edge would be bigger, but its a turbo, and its staying a turbo |
