Re: Two hands that I had trouble with at 25NL
Hand 1: I would bet between $4.5-$5 on the turn because it is so drawy. As played I would probably call the river because I don't think he calls a raise with worse very often.
Hand 2: Pretty easy call. |

Re: Two hands that I had trouble with at 25NL
hand 1 i just call, i dont think hes gonna call a raise with anything you beat. also i bet the turn a little bigger
hand 2 i have no idea. id imagine he has a mid pp or something, maybe AJ+, maybe JJ+, maybe somehting completely random... if ive only been playing a few hands i prolly just fold. But if ive seen him play wild for a few hands then im felting this. |

Re: Two hands that I had trouble with at 25NL
hand 1: sucks that the flush came in, but you are offered almost 1:4 on this call. I turbo-call it (EDIT - yeah... I would bet more on turn as well)
hand 2: I would need to see btn do similar stupid pushing stuff before I call. This goes into the muck. |

[/ QUOTE ] Pretty hard to say w/o more history but if you think villain is donkish then he can turn up with a whole load of [censored] here and you don't even need to be good 50% of the time. People generally play AA/KK slower. btw, I had a hand pretty similar to this a couple of days ago and I folded. When I thought about it some more I realised that I should have called. |

In what situations should this be call? |

Re: Two hands that I had trouble with at 25NL
Hand 1: Turn bet is too small. Even though you're not offering him great immediate pot odds, drawing hands will usually call that size bet for the implied odds. I would make at least a pot size bet to reduce implied odds and get more money into the pot. Definitely call the river. Probably not a good idea to raise, but folding is out of the question. The only time I would call is if the villain is one of those maniacs who starts pushing every hand the second they sit down at the table. I haven't seen much of that at NL25 though.
Hand 2: I believe calling an all-in pre-flop with anything other than a pocket pair is almost always a bad idea. That is because the opponent going all-in has a pocket pair the vast majority of the time, and it's usually a high one. Against AA or KK, you're cooked, and against any other pair all the way down to 22 you're still behind. |
