Cowboys again
Only played few hands at this table, seemed to be more on the loose side. Knew the button from another table, more loose-aggressive esp. preflop. I wanted to c/r on the flop.

Re: Cowboys again
Don't play good hand passively in a multiway pot.

Re: Cowboys again
You had a strong flush draw there along with possibly top pair. Don't automatically give your opponents (especially at these limits) the benefit of the doubt and think they have Aces or a better hand.

Re: Cowboys again
Is a situation like this, where you are up against 4 players, maybe ahead, maybe behind, a situation where you should consider your pot equity (never understood this) and if you consider it to be better than 25% get so much money in the pot you can?
Probably just proved that I really don't get the equity stuff. |

Re: Cowboys again
if you are behind you have at least 30% of pot equity, so you should put a lot of bets on the flop because your opponents, even when they are ahead you will win more than your share (25%)

Re: Cowboys again
So in hands like these, you would just raise the flop and reevaluate on the turn, but as this is not a scare card, You'd figure still to be more than 25% in pot equity and still bet/raise as much as you can.
On the river you have to compare pot-odds with the risk of someone holding A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. The odds are too huge not to call. But what about betting the river? Or are we getting into spewing then? |

I think that the time to call would be if you were raised on the turn or river. |
