Default I have invented a new statistic

I have invented a new baseball statistic that I am pretty sure will be an absolutle tell all how valuable a player is. This statistic takes into account walks, singles, doubles, triples, homers, walks, stolen bases, and even thigns like going 1st to 3rd, caught stealing, and reaching 1st base on an error. I am not lying or making this up but I am also refusing to tell everyone how i calculate it yet for fear of everyone saying it's stupid.

Calculating the statistic takes a long time I am going to have to look up every Mets box score individually and calculate it for every player, this should take me about 2 days. Then I will release the average for every player on the Mets. My statistic is so accurate that I believe I can use it to rank every Mets player perfectly, I would like Mets fans to chime into the thread and see if they agree with the rankings, then after all this I will release how the statistic is calculated. I'd release it now but I am 100% positive everyone will say it is stupid, so 1st I will want proof that it isn't.

I am naming the stat RPP. Which stands for runs produced %. This statistic does not take defense into account. It can also be used for pitchers but for now I'm only doing it with hitters.

walks, singles, doubles, triples, homers, walks

I'm a big fan of walks but I am very much opposed to counting them twice.

The one offensive thing the statistc does not totally take into account is hitting into double plays. It does take into account when you DO hit into them, but does not effectively take into account every time you DO NOT hit into them. There is no way to correct this but this is literally the ONLY flaw in the stat.

if you don't say how you calculate the stat there's no way to tell if it's really a new stat or just an amalgamation of other stats.

are you sure that you should be using the Mets as your test? I think the Cubs, or possibly the Brewers, and definitely the Tigers would be better.

BJF - I'm pretty sure people here will think it's stupid whether you unveil it's amazing super-secret formula or not.

You could save yourself a lot of wasted time just giving the formula here instead of actually wasting all that effort calculating it for as many players as you can.
The people here who are pretty sharp at this saber-stat type stuff can tell you if there is any validity to your amazing discovery or not.

I also fail to see how ranking all the players on the Mets with your statistic will give you any 'proof' as to whether it is actually valid or not.
