No escape, but I would usually raise 5th.
You are just less than 50-50 if they have a
made 97 or ahead if they have worse.

It also allows you to check behind if they
check on 6th, since you are behind now.

You have to call 7th - they see 2 open pairs
and will bet with worse than your made 8.

It's a borderline raise on 7th since your
board looks so bad to the opp. Cant quite
decide if I would - probably not.

Tx.

Raise 5th. Villain's in a steal position on 3rd, if his range is one card 6 or lower and a wildcard then here is a 63% favorite, if the villain has a 3 cards 8 or lower than are not-duplicated on 3rd street hero is still a 57% favorite.

As played generally if your seeing 5th street you should be willing to see 7th.

Yeah, raise fifth. Why would you want to fold anywhere?

Thanks for the advice.

Because it's annoying to lose a big pot this way. I really hate having to raise on 3rd street due to the difficulties to get rid of a hand later. So I tend to call against a possible steal with an 8 or 7, knowing that this is probably not correct.

Hi NB, and welcome to 2p2. I understand your aversion to losing big pots, but it's something that just comes with the territory. If you can win 60% of big pots (HU), then you're crushing the table, but you're still losing 40% of them. It can be even worse for your psyche with multiway pots, but not for your BR if you play them correctly. Also, don't get hung up on being a "calling station" in razz. The "call as a last resort" strategy that is so strong in HE just doesn't apply in this world.

If this person will value bet 97 here then you should raise the river.

Thats too wild IMHO. The problem is the same player who will value bet a 97xxx will also look you up if you raise and he catches a perfect card on the river.
