Ok here's my thinking on the flop... If someone has a Q i'm not getting away from it. I don't mind giving a free card cause if they don't have the Q they are drawing quite slim and hopefully i can get some money from other hands. Anyways i have 27k to start hennigan has like 50 SB has like 35-40. I haven't gone to show down but showed QQ after shoving a out of the big blind after a co raise who folded aq. The only other time i raised pf and got called it was like 4 ways to the flop and i c/folded after missing. Blinds are 400/800 with 100 ante I have A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] In like second position and raise to 2600. Hennigan calls on button and SB calls.
Flop t9600 Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Check, check, hennigan bets 5k, fold, I should just shove but i called. Turn 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] pot 19600 check check River 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I bet 8k, hennigan shoves i call.. as played bet river? I dunno I have a habit of checking AA on paired rainbow boards but with these stacks if i check i should just check/shove no? |

I would usually bet the flop with 2 opponents OOP. I'm definitely not scared to go broke on the flop and it's possible to get action from a worse hand IMO.

If you bet that weakly on the river you pretty much have to call.

Images? I assume youve been pretty tight and he's been active-ish but not splashy.
If the guy will call preflop with hands like T9s and other speculative stuff, then you pretty much have to play this hand for bluff equity. If he's tighter and has the expected range of like KQ+/55+, then he's pretty unlikely to bluff you at any point in the hand and it becomes value time. In the former case, where he has a wide ass range, I like lead flop (call a push), if he calls check the turn (call a push), if he checks I'd check the river (call a push). The bet/check/check line is perfect for him to float you and fire it off on the river. And if he backs into a pair of some kind he'll probably value bet somewhere. If he's pretty tight, then I like bet flop, check turn, push river. Pretty hard for him to fold a decent pair there. |
