$5 MTT, 3k starting stack, river decision in first level
Villain picked up some chips when he limped UTG, called a raise, check/shoved the flop (yes shoved 3k chips on the flop over a cbet and call)

The reraise on the turn screams trips. I'm probably check/folding this river.

Re: $5 MTT, 3k starting stack, river decision in first level
Does anyone like a cbet of 150ish on the flop? It's not likely to have hit anyone's hand and we'd like to take it down right there with KQs. If we get a caller, we have to shut down unless we improve on the turn.
When we do improve on the turn, we can bet out again and then fold to any resistance, or call and play to the river. As played, it's not bad at all. Fold the river. On the other hand, we won't hit a King or Queen on the turn all that often so we should probably try and take it on the flop. |

[/ QUOTE ] If we actually had a hand, checking might be good, but we can't win this hand if we don't bet. We can only hope to catch a few cards on the turn if we check and when we miss again, we're just giving the hand away. |
