O8 forum should play HORSE, or what do the donks have?

I fold some junk like 249T preflop and watch this in amazment:

Preflop: UTG+1 raises, 5 see the flop of K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] All five players CHECK the flop?!?!

Turn: T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG+1 bets, 1 fold, BTN raises, SB 3 bets, BB caps, all call.

River: Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Board is K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG+1 bets, BTN folds, SB raises, BB folds, UTG+1 re-raises, SB calls.

Try to put UTG+1 and SB on a hand.

Never assume your opponents are decent...

Umm, since you led the question the way you did, maybe utg+1 and sb both have trips that they checked on the flop or maybe they have complete rags with some low clubs.

Low limit donknaments and decent players, that just doesnt go together.

If you suppose they are good why play them?

UTG+1 shows AsAd6d7d for high, a pair of aces
SB shows Ac6h5d9d, for high, AKQJ9

I guess both thought it was Holdem and their Ace gave them the Broadway straight, which wasn't even the nuts with the flush on board.

The point was how poorly HORSE players do in the O portion of the game. I finished second on the strength of two hands: flopped quads in the O part, and a 65432 that scooped in the E part.

This does not surprise me at all. I play some $30-$50 HORSE sngs and see s**t like this all the time in O8 and Stud 8 ('You like your pair of 9s there did you ?').

My only problem with these SNGs (I play at FT) is it often takes forever to get down to 4 or 5 players (compared to PL/NL sngs) and then it comes down to one big hand once the blinds/antes get up that decides whether you cash or spend the next 20 minutes cursing some moron chasing with a5 low draw and hitting the wheel on the river.

That said agreed, HORSE is a very profitable game to be good at, and should be even better soon now that ESPN are doing I think 8 episodes on this years 50k WSOP horse event. That should get the 'MoneyMaker Crowd' flocking.
