Default 50NL: OESD Facing Weak Lead

No read on villain. He bought in full so he might be a decent player. I think I've seen his name at the tables before.

Raise is good? Maybe against a good player I should just call. Button was still to act too. 50NL is kicking my butt. Well, variance is kicking my butt actually.

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $36.90
BB: $51.00
UTG: $49.25
Hero (CO): $49.25
BTN: $42.75

Preflop: Hero is dealt T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 Players)
UTG folds, Hero raises to $1.75, BTN calls $1.75, SB folds, BB calls $1.25

Flop: ($5.50) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2 (3 Players)
BB bets $1.25, Hero raises to $6.50, BTN folds, BB raises to $18.00, Hero folds
Uncalled bet of $11.50 returned to BB

Pot Size: $18.50

i like to call the flop... theres no need to put more money in when the BB is giving you the odds for your straight draw... but watch here cause he could be trying to bet and get a couple of callers with him having a flush draw.. also i would prob. fold this pf

Hmm. BB's weak bet probably means he's on a flush draw, which also means your straight draw only has 6 outs. You also have what may be two live cards that are worth another two outs (6 outs, -2 outs for his flush draw, -2 outs just 'cause I feel like it) for a total of 8 outs. You could raise here like you did--absolutely nothing wrong with that. But given these incredible odds to just call combined with position, I often take the low-variance route and just call the $1.25 here. There's also the possibility that villain is idiotically slowplaying two pair or a set, and will stack off when you hit your semi-disguised straight.

This seems very standard. You've got plenty of FE on the raise with outs against a bet you'll pwn plenty of the time and his re-raise = easiest fold ever.

Raise is good if it's the first time you've seen him do this.
You should probably fold to the 3-bet.

The most important thing is to insta-note that this player likes to weak-lead/3-bet flopped monsters, so that next time, you can EXPLOIT his weak lead and outdraw him cheaply.

I prefer the call because it's so cheap.
