SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $51, SB calls, BB folds.

SB bets $90, Hero raises to $400, SB raises to $986, Hero folds.

I was lost. What should my line be?

I can't see a reason to raise the turn unless you're looking to play for stacks, in which case snap call the 3 bet. If you don't think he's capable of getting it in with worse than top 2 here that's basically an admission that your turn raise had no value, so you should just call. After all how often can a good TAG just flat call your turn raise?

Sounds like consensus is call/call which is after the fact what I thought was the right line.
