200NL - AQ in 3-bet pot
Villain is 50/20/1 over 200 hands and is running hot against me. I can't win a single hand. He is floating everytime I don't hit, and when I hit, I'm second best, you know the drill. I can't get a read on him, but he just seems like a lucky donk, not some impressive winning LAG.

Re: 200NL - AQ in 3-bet pot
This is only a half pot bet because of your stack size- if you are thinking of folding then you should have folded the flop. I'm assuming you ran into AA/99, but this is a bluff enough to make this +EV vs a 50/20.

Re: 200NL - AQ in 3-bet pot
You definitely shouldn't shove on the flop. If you think he's getting out of line with his bets, you want him to make the big bet on the turn. If you shove you lose the potential equity of him making a crazy bluff. And only hands that beat you will call. So when you shove, you'll lose the same amount against his good hands as you would by just calling a bet on the turn, but he gets to save money when he has nothing.

Yeah, so anyway, he had AK.

Re: 200NL - AQ in 3-bet pot
so much is dependent on how strong he thinks you are when you call the flop raise. is he liable to do this with <AQ, maybe hearts if he's that bad? I don't see him doing this with air due to history, you'd call him down more if you're tilting.
I think he's way ahead or we're slightly ahead. So fold barring a more specific read. |

Re: 200NL - AQ in 3-bet pot
Postflop is fine once you get there.
Check to see how much he steals, and if he is any tighter utg than button to try to help get a better range on him. also pay attention to how often he calls when people reraise him. |

Re: 200NL - AQ in 3-bet pot
I like how you played it.. lesser Aces are in his range (AJ/A10) since he's so loose PF.. It seems like lately I'm always behind to a flop C/R with TP, but it would be difficult to fold this vs. a 50/20.

[/ QUOTE ] Fold where? I don't have a clue what his flop minraise means. So I certainly don't know how strong he thinks I am when I call it. If you don't see him doing it with less than AQ, of course you fold. The problem here is putting him on a range. |
