Last night I had a trojan issue, and I think I cleaned/fixed it but my computer knowledge is limited so I figured I'd make sure it's gone. Anyway, a window called "Data Execution Prevention" popped up, and said it was closing a program because of suspicious activity(or a reason similar to that, can't remember exactly). That got me worried, so I ran my anti-virus/security program(AVG) and apparently I had 8 trojans on my computer. With each trojan, I chose the "heal" option. The 8 trojans were split between two folders, C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Intuit\Quicken\Sku\Qnue\Custom and C:\Program Files\Quicken. After healing them, I uninstalled Quicken just to make sure all the "Quicken" files were off my computer. Then I scanned my computer again, no trojans or infections. I turned off the computer, went to sleep, and when I woke up I scanned a second time, and again no infections. Right now, I can see the trojans in the virus vault, but I'm pretty sure they aren't harmful to my computer because they're in the vault.
So basically, am I cleaned? Or should I scan with a separate program or something? Thanks! |

The only way you can be sure your pc is clean is by formatting and reinstalling with a clean CD. You should get on a clean computer and change all your poker/neteller/e-banking passwords aswell.

[/ QUOTE ] QFT. The only option is reformatting your PC. Change your passwords once you get a clean PC. |

I also got a PM saying to use NOD32, but I decided to be extra safe and just reformat. Apparently the trojan I had is popping up a lot(atleast according to google). I just wish I knew where I got it.
Thanks for the help edit: also, should I change the passwords to sites even if I haven't used them since I had the trojan? edit2: After browsing through more websites, people are saying it's a "false-positive" and the problem is with AVGs update, and not my computer. I guess I reformatted for nothing lol |
