Nearing the bubble, JTo on the button makes 2nd pair
This is from a Stars 10+1 6-max tourney. Started with about 725 players, now down to 79 and 66 get paid.
Comments on pre-flop and flop are welcome. I wasn't sure whether or not this was necessarily a push/fold situation or not, so I made a standard 3BB raise, then caught a little piece of the flop. Re: Nearing the bubble, JTo on the button makes 2nd pair
I think this is way ahead/way behind. calling here sucks. raise or fold. If you raise you commit yourself. Odd bet from the sb but Im guessing he hit his K but he might just be trying to pick it up. Absent of any reads i lean towards folding. Although its really either way. Tough choice.

any reads on the SB? [/ QUOTE ] He seemed reasonable. I hadn't seen him play post-flop much. He's folded to all of my blind steals. |

Re: Nearing the bubble, JTo on the button makes 2nd pair
if u havent seen much post-flop action from the SB in a 6-handed table, then he seems pretty tight. which makes me believe hes got KT/QJ or something. i think with 11x BB, ur raise should be all-in PF and just take the blinds. the problem with the 3x raise PF here is that u have committed 1/3 of ur chips to this pot. even a simple minimum t600 weak lead is a big problem for u now. if he had nothing, i think he would go allin hoping u didnt hit or u had a medium pp that u can fold since 2 overs hit the board. even though his t600 bet seems weak, it still looks like he has u beat...oh well, id fold reluctantly

This bet is like never a K. Raise. It's a cheap draw or a crappy pair.

Clear push. You've 5100 after raising. Any raise commits you. So commit yourself.
As nath said, this is almost never a king. It is usually "man, I hope you fold, but I don't want to put a whole lot of chips in there trying to get you to fold." Occasionally it's a draw, though the only real draw is QT. |
