Before you read this, take note - I'm an sng player, getting into cash, I probably have less than 20k hands under my belt at 10NL - so things might take a bit more explaining for me...
Villain open raises more than 1/3 of the time he gets the chance from any position... My knee jerk is to say this is a RIO situation, not much upside and could be expensive.
But against this villain, with such a wide range, I might go into call down mode as long as he doesn't make any big bets. |

So he's a lag then. Tough hand because he might be the type to fire a second barrel if you just call the flop. I guess we could raise the flop here, but I'm not sure if it will help because almost any hand he bets here, he should be willing to 3-bet all in with a strong draw, or a made hand.
I'm leaning towards just calling the flop and seeing what happens on the turn. I definitely do not want to play a big pot with just TP/TK though. |

Your stack sizes would be pretty important here. I think w/ the 3 hearts it's wise to slow a bit. I'd call the flop and see what the turn brings.

How's he acted post flop? My first reaction is that his bet size is not a protection sized bet, it is a blocking size or value size bet. Does he often bet 1/2 the pot, some people just do this regardless?
If he is laggy postflop, I'd probably call and see a turn. Heck i'd probably call the turn on a non-heart too. He probably has a heart, but i'm not certain enough to want to raise to protect my hand. I'd rather keep the pot small so I can get away from this later in the hand if I need to. Seems too weak to dump this on the flop. |

I raise flop, check turn, call reasonable river bet.

The worst case scenario in my opinion is that he is freerolling you with AxKh, but that is probably worst case. With a made smaller flush if he is betting into you it is to protect against another heart coming and the bet is probably a bit larger as any face heart is probably calling this bet here.
Would this villian lead into you with the nuts here? I probably would, as it would be the best way to build the pot. KhQh is a possibility. Also he could have a hand like AxQh or AxJh. We are a slight favorite over these hands but not as much as we would like to be. He could just be making a stab with a worse Ace or bluffing the board. My standard line would be to raise the flop and check the turn or call the turn and river unless another heart comes and then I would bet(bluff)/fold. |
