$600 Bodog HU
Just stumpled on this forum, i didn't realize we had a HU place.
$600 on bodog. Villain has been very aggressive, either betting pot or folding, so no in-between. His standard opening raise is $18. He could have AA or 43o with his raise. Effective stacks are $700 each. I'm down about a buyin to him. A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Villain raises to $18, hero calls. Flop Pot $36ish T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Vilian bets flop, hero calls. Turn: Pot $120ish Q: heart: Villain bets $120, hero calls. River: Pot $360ish 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Villain pushes for about a pot size bet. |

Re: $600 Bodog HU
Fold preflop or the turn or give a us read as to why you called the turn as folding there is very standard.

Re: $600 Bodog HU
Preflop, I'm not folding A6 to a raiser like this. Sometimes I 3bet it, but didn't this time. admittedly, I should've folded turn but i felt I was ahead of his range and had protection if an Ace spiked.

Re: $600 Bodog HU
folding preflop is really bad. I dont see anyway how you can lay this down after calling that turn.

Re: $600 Bodog HU
Folding A-rag OOP is pretty damn standard in HU cash.
As played, fold turn. The river presents a logical problem. You continued in the hand with 2nd pair on the flop (which is fine), which became third pair on the turn because you put your opponent on a worse hand. Given that logic, we can say Air or Draw... with 10-20% air, 80-90% he has 45 or spades (a majority of the range is spades just given my combinatorics). Given that, on the river he has you beat a huge portion of the time. When calling down lightly it's important to gauge your outs. Do you see how this hand is completely different if you have As 6x? EDIT: With a read that my opponent is not maniacal, I'm generally not going to continue with a flopped 2nd pair that turns into 3rd pair on the turn. |

Re: $600 Bodog HU
after calling on the turn how can you possibly consider folding river?

You've now forced yourself into a situation where you have to call knowing you're beat an insane percentage of the time. Lest you take another step away from your original logic. |
