All Time Lineup - By Team
Here are the ground rules:
1. Each player must play his own primary position. No putting Mantle/Dimaggio in the same lineup because they were both primarily center fielders. 2. Players must have played for the majority of their career for the team you're putting them on. In other words, you can't put Greg Maddux on the Padres. 3. Put them in the batting order you feel best serves the team. 1. Cap Anson 1B .333/.393/.445 3418 Career Hits 2. Jimmy Ryan CF .306/.374/.444 418 Career SB 3. Billy Williams LF .290/.361/.492 426 Career HR 4. Sammy Sosa RF .273/.344/.534 602 Career HR 5. Ernie Banks SS .274/.330/.500 512 Career HR 6. Gabby Hartnett C .297/.370/.480 236 Career HR 7. Ron Santo 3B .277/.362/.464 342 Career HR/5 Gold Gloves 8. Ryne Sandberg 2B .285/.344/.452 282HR/9GG/344SB 9. 3 Finger Brown P 239-130 2.06 ERA 3-0 in '07-'08 WS What does your favorite team look like? |

Re: All Time Lineup - By Team
I think rule #2 disqualifies all but one person at at least two positions for the Mariners.

1. Ichiro, RF
2. Alex Rodriguez, SS 3. Ken Griffey Jr., CF 4. Edgar Martinez, DH 5. Raul Ibanez, RF 6. John Olerud, 1B 7. Bret Boone, 2B 8. Adrian Beltre, 3B 9. Kenji Johjima, C Randy Johnson, P Arod has played 3rd for a few years, but he always played short for the Ms. If I could put arod at third I'd drop Beltre and put Vizquel at short. edit becasue I forgot you can't just change people's positions to suit you, even outfielders Also Junior played more games for Seattle at CF (1485)then anyone ever for the mariners at a single position (second is Edgar with 1412 games at DH), so he should probably be in CF. |
