Default 1st trip report.....Fallsview in Niagara

took a quick two day trip with the family to see the falls..you have to see it once, was able to get out late monday night to fallsview. Went to Casino Niagara first, but was lame 4 tables out of 20 playing only 1/2 nl $100 max buy in. 15 people on list, they wont open more tables. Take cab to Fallsview, $7, find there room and get on a list.

Poker room is in a nice corner, electronic board above check out. Again 1/2 nl $100 max..2/5 nl $200 max..5/5 $300 or $500 max and a 5/10 limit and they were running the prelim $90 satellites for the WPT event in OCT. I was a little bummed about this, i was hoping there would be more than 1 event, 2 stage sat. to win your way into the $10,000 ME.

So i sit dowm with my $100, thinking this is going to be an all in fest, but at first, it was pretty tight and weak. Standard raise was $7, maybe 2-3 callers, alot of $10 bets on the flop, turn, river. My first screw up was to see AA in EP and not raise to $7, just limped, ended having 7 to the flop,,uh oh,,flop 244, two suited, i bet 15 to find out where i was,,two callers, 6 on turn, they bet and raise, im out,,they both turn over 3,5 for staight. There was not a ton of action, every now and then somone would raise to 15 or 17 and everyone folds. i win a few small hands up about 40 and new people sit down.

For some reason there was fire alarm or drill going on..all play stopped, lights went off for a second, oh, here we are paying $5 rake/half hour and we get 2 hands in because of this alarm. finally stops and we play again. Now some old nit keeps going all in almost every hand. He pushed 35 and i look down and find KK,,i call and take it down, 2hands later he pushes for $93, i look down and find QQ,,i think,,call almost got another caller,,take down pot.
play one more orbit,,rack up and head back to hotel up $160.

All in all way better than Casino niagara, dont understand only 100 max,,, $5 rake every half hour was a little steep. wish they had a 10/20 limit going, ,but again...1/2 nl is taking over the world. Makes me appreciate Motor City,,, thats scary

I was there Monday night too. That emergency generator test two times in 3 hours with a fire alarm in the middle was super annoying, but at least at my 5-5 table we all bitched enough and threatened a walkout so the floor gave us a free session. No way in hell i'm paying $6 to sit there and listen to that annoying ass alarm with those blinking stupid lights. It was a good session though, and we capped it off with scoring a suite at the hilton for $75.

yeah I play there sometimes, and man those session fee's are ridiculous. sure the competition is retarded but the rake is stupid. when they do a deck change your pretty much paying 5 dollars for them to do it. I usually bitch about it though and try and get a free session.

casino niagara is pretty good for fish, and they have a better rake system. evertime I go there I almost always walk out with a nice profit. during the week its all 1/2.
but weekends have a 2/5 game.

fallsview I must admit just has a better overall feel to it, i just wish they would impliment a better session system rakewise.
