Default good amount for a 1/2 player??

i see the term bb/100 hands and was just wondering if someone could please explain this to me.

i play 1/2 on stars and now full tilt and do fairly well. i play anywhere from 2 - 4 tables and avg. $100 profit on each table for anywhere from 3- 6 hrs. is this a good profit ratio for the tables and time played? i feel like i should/could be making much more on each table.

thx.

so at 6bb/100, making 12$/100 hands is considered a good player?

Since 95% of the people who play poker lose money in the long run, if after 20,000 hands or so your bb/100 > 0, you are a good player.

If you are talking NL and bb = big blinds, 6BB/100 (equivalent to 3PTBB/100) is a reasonable win rate.

If you are talking limit and bb=big bets, 6BB/100 is not sustainable in the long run no matter how good you are.

6bb/100 at that level is 24$ per 100 hands, that`s a super winrate at 1/2$NL.

I think that 3ptbb/100 would be a great win rate for 1-2. In a card runners video boosted j talks about getting a win rate of 8-10 bb/100 hands 8 tabling. Im not sure how obtainable that is for the average (or even above average) player.
