I flop a set and run into a lot of action heads up
5 handed $1/$2
dealt to hero: 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] sb posts $1 hero (bb) posts $2 utg folds co folds button folds villian (sb) calls $1 hero (bb) raises to $6 This is just a standard raise for me with this hand. sb calls $4 flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($12) villian checks hero bets $9 No reason to slow play on this flop. sb calls $9 turn: K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($30) hero bets ($25) sb raises to ($75) Now time to talk about reads. I was playing 2 tables and I don't remember much about him. But I did think he played one hand rather passively. He bet small flop and turn with top pair or something. I thought there was a very real threat that he just made a flush. But now I am getting about 1:2.6 pot odds to call and I have possibly 10 outs if he has a flush. Which is about 1:3.6 to make on the river. And if he has a flush I have decent implied odds and there is enough left behind in stacks to call I thought. Plus I could have the best hand yet if he has something like KT. River: 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($180) Villian bets ($51) Now I was already thinking about folding if he goes all in on the river (he had about $110 left before his bet). But he put this smallish bet out and I have a set. Hero calls Looking for comments on all streets. |

Re: I flop a set and run into a lot of action heads up
This looks fine to me. You can raise more preflop, and potting flop is good. Turn and river are standard I think.

If you put him on a possible draw, I think check/call or a smaller probe bet on the turn to keep the pot small might have been better. Call on river for that price is fine.
