Trips getting CRAI on river
Villain doesnīt seem to be too out of line, but no specific reads. I figured Iīd valuebet the river, however, when he check raises the river, I felt like trips was his most likely holding. Comments on all streets welcome!

Re: Trips getting CRAI on river
Eh, it looks okay, the river call is pretty marginal, especially in a limped pot. I raise it up pf if I'm gonna play it though. Don't try to see family pots with this, you wanna be the aggressor and be able to take pots when you don't hit anything, and you can't do this by limping.

Check behind on river. Don't go broke in unraised pots!

Re: Trips getting CRAI on river
Whoaaaaa, checking behind on this river is bad. You need to bet, I would up my bet to about 2 on the river though.
BCR, how do you not bet here? |

Re: Trips getting CRAI on river
lol at checking behind this river that has no made flush or straights. this is a VB 100% of the time for 2 or 3. a c/r on the river at these stakes is UGLY. i can't put villain on a better kicker trips as i can some ugly boat. i think this is a very marginal situation that would be annoyingly read dependent (could villain do this with the whiffed FD?).
also, with value betting this river for more like pot, you get slightly better odds to make this call. |

Re: Trips getting CRAI on river
Thanks for the replies, in this hand Villain had KJ.
Had I made a pot size bet on the river, as CobraGoat suggested, calling the push would of course be easy. Maybe thatīs the way to go, hoping for a worse J, because, well, Jx and boats are the only ones calling a PSB I think. Still, I feel like checking behind wouldnīt have been too bad either, at least less variance. Making a bet on that board on the river is an awfully strong move, and itīs obvious I either have trips or better, or a complete bluff, if I do that. So, what hands are we hoping to get value from? A big bet to get value from Jx, or a small bet to get value from i.e. K8, 99? Against a good player, I obviously would have checked behind. |

Re: Trips getting CRAI on river
You bet in hopes that 77-88 thinks that you don't have a J and he tries to bluff-call against your perceived air.
