2/4 AA against a loon+tightie (slightly deep)
Question: Can I bet the flop/turn/river? I'm genuinely petrified of MP, especially since we're deep.
MP - 39/19/2 - Haven't seen him 3betting much and INSTA-called my 4-bet. Actually seems fairly good despite his loose calling stats. CO - 45/9/1 - A calling station BUFFOON. Example of hand I played with him earlier: [ QUOTE ] The road to the party is paved with gold. oh my god ps: which one is the tightie? [/ QUOTE ] MP? I guess 'tightie' was a bad descriptive word. I just figured his 3-betting range was tight given his limited use of the 3-bet and his being aware of the loon's...well...lunacy which happened less than a few orbits prior. |

Re: 2/4 AA against a loon+tightie (slightly deep)
if his range is exactly {AK,KK} then you have him crushed on the flop 2/3 of the time, and all the money goes in. the more hands you include in his range, the more likely it is that you're ahead (although he probably gets away from hands worse than a K, but fortunately you've got another dude in there to pay you off with anything at all). giving two players a free card on this flop in this huuuuuge pot costs a lot of equity, and you aren't inducing enough bets from hands that don't call a flop shove to make that option better
and as for lolresultsorientedthinkingaments, the dude never put anymore money in the pot and folded the river, so the fact that he's 39/19 was apparently a bit more reflective of his range than "tight" was also, for some reason I was thinking you had folded the river, but since you called the hand is at least a little bit salvaged |

Re: 2/4 AA against a loon+tightie (slightly deep)
I believe this is the wrong play because:
MP is just barely getting odds to call with the implied odds of hitting his set. So him 3betting your initial raise and ONLY CALLING your reraise makes me put him on this range: 10-KK, AKs and AKo, kings being the least likely IMO. Since you beat most of his hands you should raise against MP. Against a reraise I wouldn't know what to do actually. CO his range is pretty wide since he's a calling station pre-flop. Keeping this in mind, I also think it's important to raise to gain some of information on his hand, also I wouldn't be too worried of running into a set against him since him calling down your flop raise could mean a multitude of hands. Anyways, I think raising is the right play because MP's range is fairly wide and for narrowing down CO's range. That's my opinion, I'm sure that there are some holes in it and if anyone could point them out that'd be great since I'm still learning the little details of th game. Against a reraise I'd call against him because he seems to put way too much on top pair. |
