Re: Set Of Aces facing river shove
Stack sizes?
Raise more preflop (4xBB + 1BB per limper) so therefore raise to $1 preflop. On the flop, BB makes a monkey bet and if you're going to raise, AT LEAST raise it equal to the pot prior to the non-bet bet BB made, so at least to $2. Treat that near min bet as a check. On the turn, why bet so small? Villain called your flop raise, so bet your hand. That 1/2 pot bet is horribly weak and we lose a lot of value here as villain told us on the flop that he liked his hand. So I bet at least $3.75 here if not full pot. On the river, ugh, another weak bet by hero and BB pushes. I call but I think you could have made this hand much easier by sizing your bets better. |

Re: Set Of Aces facing river shove
this is a relativley non scary board though imo. if there were a flush draw or it was A Q 10 i would obviously bet pot but i was hoping to get action from medium pairs suited connectors etc
my raise pre was actually to 0.7 to include the sb so 3.5* |

Re: Set Of Aces facing river shove
like felix, i HATE your bet sizing. 4xBB + 1 for limpers PF. as played raise flop to at least $2, turn should be like $3.75ish, and i put about $6ish on the river. those sizes would be larger all throughout though since the pot would be bigger as you move along.

Re: Set Of Aces facing river shove
Your bet sizing at EVERY action in this hand illustrates what is likely a HUGE leak in OPs game...You get Max value at this level by BETTING and betting aggressively..

Re: Set Of Aces facing river shove
4BB's + 1 per limper is standard so raise to $1 pre-flop.
Raise flop bigger...at least like 1.7 Bet turn bigger. Bet river bigger. Easy river call. |

Re: Set Of Aces facing river shove
Yeah lead out flop please. Check/raising shows a bucket load more strength and at this level these guys LOVE to call, so get value out of them!!
Lead flop $1.50ish. Turn at least $3. River about $6. And river decision is an easy call and just be thankful he made getting all your money in easy for you, cos you made a hard job of it! |

Re: Set Of Aces facing river shove
He turned over 55!! i think in most cases your more aggressive line would have worked also but in this case i think it would have scared him off... no idea what he was thinking about. all i thought was there's no way he would call a pre flop reraise with 3 5 so he cant have the str8...
