Default oop w/ AK on dangerous board

only played a few hands at the table so no reads.

What is he betting the river that I am ahead of? Am I committed to call this because of my turn check?

You aren't OOP.
I bet/fold the turn, I don't want to give him a free card.

Given that he completed the SB then called a 7x, I think he is a donk who hit the flush but whiffed his turn check/minraise.

It's pretty hard to put him on a bluff, because I can't really think of much that he would call the flop with and then end up bluffing the river with (a pair of aces would try to showdown, and the flush draw got there).

On the river, you're still beating AQ and some other aces (depending on how loose Villain is) along with hands like QJo and KJo.

However, the size of his bet is discouraging. Readless, I think the decision is close, but I would tend to call. Like you mentioned, you did encourage this river bet with your turn check.

I bet/fold the turn as well. You'll still get a lot of value out of weaker aces, and some types of combo draws as well. As played, definitely call the river. You showed weakness on the turn, so he could easily have KJ, A4, etc.
