Part of an interview that Poker listings had with Andy Bloch: (there is apparently a correct way to play HU?)
[ QUOTE ] So is that what attracts you to the game, the probabilities and the challenge in the fact that you can never really know them all? That's all part of it. The thing is in poker once you have more than two players; there is no optimal game theoretical strategy. You always have to wonder about how your opponents play. Heads up is a great game too. Event though there is an optimal theory and a right way to play it. [/ QUOTE ] http://www.pokerlistings.com/poker-playe...neer-a-bracelet What does Bloch mean by this? Does he mean a robot can play HU and win? In the Poker After Dark episode where Chris Ferguson wins, it seems he has a partially robotic way to play HU. Where can I read more about this? I'm guessing the robotic game applies a lot more to short stack HU games. I think it would probably be possible to create a robot that can win at HU short stack games online - just by using Sklansky-Chubukov numbers and assuming that the opponent is using SC numbers to play their game. |
