Default Is Horse Racing -EV???

When i go to a racetrack, i read the form, check out the parade ring etc and make informed decisions about my bets.
excluding admission, travel, food etc, is the actual betting -ev???

you pay much more juice betting on horses than you do on sports. so therefore it is -EV for a larger percentage of bettors, since fewer people are finding sufficient edges to overcome the juice.

i was thinking that as i will always have a bet even if the odds arent great.
e.g. handicap saw 7-1, seemed about right, get to the front and its gone 13-2 general. if that seems too short, should i not bet and wait for better spots?

search for horse betting using the search function and you'll find a couple threads that will give you a lot of answers.

Yeah, but you can get 10-15% of losses back or more from many sites.

Do you mean losses or a rebate on volume?

Losses prove effectively worthless over the longterm for someone who is winner. While a rebate would effectively lower the vig.

I dont think that losses prove worthless for horse bettors for several reasons. Even if you are a longterm winner you can still hit a very low %. Ive seen people make plenty who hit around 25% so, you are still losing 75% and if you can get 12% returned that is not worthless. It seems similar to the rakeback in poker...but not really.

What are the best sites for betting horses? I did a search and couldnt find one discussion on it. Any site that takes epassporte would be helpful. Already have Bodog. There must be better.

Not really these days, that's where I bet. Epassporte doesn't deal with any sportsbooks so I think you are out of luck there.
