Default skipping the value raise on the flop

6/12 at Borgata, passive, somewhat loose.

3 limpers, I limp in CO w/ Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], button calls.

6 players, 6.5SB.

flop J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

BB bets and gets 3 callers. I call.

I have only Button to protect my hand from. In order to have value in the raise I have to have the best hand right now. If I don't have the best hand, I have very small equity given all the draws out there and very few cards can help me.

Seems like half the deck is bad, so I wait for the turn.

I believe this situation is similar to playing overpair in SSHE. Ed recommends raising for value w/AA, but to wait for the turn w/TT overpair on a low draw flop that has been bet into and got lots of callers.

You don't necessarily need to have the best hand to make the raise worth it. It sounds like there are probably at least a couple of players drawing very slim. Their dead money could make it worth it for you, even if you're not sure you're best.

But I think I agree with your call. Like you said, you're not going to protect your hand and there's a ton of dangerous cards that can come. I like the call/re-evaluate on turn line.

raise preflop, id probably raise flop too, a lot of drawing hands are paying you off here and then if u get c/r on turn u can easily fold.

I have no idea why you want to raise preflop.

I think raising or calling the flop is probably close but I'm leaning on the calling side.

Seems fine, you can't know whether you're actually ahead, or drawing to a 3 outer yourself (or even dead). Preflop raise with QJo is silly; with QJs it's probably ok.

Turn was a second club rag. It's checked to me, I bet. Button and BB call.

River is a club rag putting a BD flush.

Checked to me, I value bet. Button calls w/T8o and MHIG. YAY!
