Default 10NL, Pot Control

Villian is very loose, calls too much. How's this line?

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.05/$0.10 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

Hero (SB): $9.90
BB: $10.90
UTG: $9.45
MP: $4.95
CO: $9.35
BTN: $0.00

Preflop: Hero is dealt K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 Players)
UTG folds, BTN calls $0.10, 2 folds, <font color="red">Hero raises to $0.40</font>, BB folds, BTN calls $0.30

Flop: ($0.90) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
<font color="red">Hero bets $0.40</font>, BTN calls $0.40

Turn: ($1.70) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
<font color="red">Hero bets $0.80</font>, BTN calls $0.80

River: ($3.30) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
<font color="red">Hero bets $1.20</font>, <font color="red">BTN raises all-in to $26.15</font>, Hero folds
Uncalled bet of $24.95 returned to BTN

Pot Size: $5.70 ($0.55 Rake)

PF Raise is weak.

flop bet should be close to pot
turn bet should be close to pot
river bet looks good to block, and as played easy fold onriver

converter messed up or somethin. If it folded to BTN he/she limps then raise from SB is ok id make it .5 tho and i raise it lookin to steal. Flop/Turn bet is good but make them larger like 2/3-PSB. River id probably just c/c a reasonable size bet and probably c/f to larger bet. As played good fold.

I raised pf because I want to play, post flop, against the BTN; i.e. built the pot without scaring him off.

I bet just less than 1/2 pot as I thought he'd call behind with a lot of hands that I beat. Building the pot too much could easily lead to a difficult decision, given the drawy board.

As played I have an easy fold on the river, if I bet the pot on both the flop and turn: -

Hero (SB): $9.90
BB: $10.90
UTG: $9.45
MP: $4.95
CO: $9.35
BTN: $26.55

Preflop: Hero is dealt K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 Players)
UTG folds, BTN calls $0.10, 2 folds, <font color="red">Hero raises to $0.40</font>, BB folds, BTN calls $0.30

Flop: ($0.90) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
<font color="red">Hero bets $0.90</font>, BTN calls $0.90

Turn: ($2.70) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
<font color="red">Hero bets $2.70</font>, BTN calls $2.70

River: ($8.10) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)

Now what? I have $6 left and I could easily be behind, I’ve put too much money in with a fairly weak holding that’s unlikely to get called by anything I beat. But Villian is a muppet so I could find reason to call.

I think the line is bad against a guy who calls too much. Against that guy, your hand has considerable value, and you want to play it accordingly. I would bet strong on at least the first two streets, and evaluate based on the river. With the one card straight possible, I'd probably c/c the river if the bet was small, and fold to the gigantor overbet.

EDIT: Yes, with that particular river, the larger pot is going to be uncomfortable. But with a lot of other rivers, you're just going to win a good sized hand here.

This is overwhelmingly results oriented. Put villain on a range, then make a decision.

However, STOP BETTING LESS THAN HALF THE POT!!!

preflop is spew
bet more on the flop, and turn

river block bet is good
i also like a check call
