AK, standard-line?
Live FR $2/3 game, $100 buy-in. Usually means pretty loose table.
I have $300. Villain in BB has $200. 2 limpers, I raise to $15 in MP with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. folds to BB who calls and 2 limpers call. Flop: (~$60 pot): A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Checks to me, I bet $45. BB calls, 2 folds Turn: Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] BB checks, I check River: 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] BB bets $40, I call Wondering if this is standard. Should I have continued to bet on the turn. I find that in loose games, people tend to call with high 2nd pairs so I didn't want to give villain a chance to represent a Q by c/r on turn. But did I give free card to flush draws in most cases? Result: In this particular case, villain had a missed T high flush draw. So I made a mistake by giving free card but induced a river bluff which paid off. But I'd like to know whether this is a standard line in general. |

Re: AK, standard-line?
I play this exactly the same exact maybe raise a bit more PF as it is a live game and villains will be looser in calling preflop bets.
Dont post results as it can lead to results oriented thinking. Even though he had the FD this time, you must consider his entire range, not only the hand that he had on this particular occasion. Your play was correct against his range IMO. |

Re: AK, standard-line?
I would continue to bet on Turn, like $100 or so. Live game is loose-weak right? Then villain prob will not c/r Turn if he doesn't have Q. There's no reason to fear for him holding a Q and not bet the Turn.

Re: AK, standard-line?
So villain only had 200 to begin with. If I bet $100 on turn and get crai, then can I really fold for 40 more in a 390 pot?
does your stance stay the same in light of this? |

Re: AK, standard-line?
Why is it not good (spew?) to bet the Turn?
