Default How in the world do you play this hand? Need advice on Overpair...

Maybe raise more before the flop? Still, what to do if you raise 3/4x and he comes out with double the pot on a flop like this? So confused....do you just dump it on the flop right there, after raising preflop and having all low cards come? if you think he's on a draw or an overpair, do you push right here? Or do you just call allllllllllllllll the way down....again so confused, to early to have a read on his play.

It's not that early. You're already down to 5 players and villian has doubled up. I would check out how he played that hand and decide whether he's an idiot or not.

Then it's push or fold.

Buy-in?

Preflop is good.

A bigger overpair than TT would most likely have reraied preflop. He's overbetting the pot on a dry board - unlikely he has a set. Made straight also very unlikely.

I'm assuming it's a lowish buy-in? This is often a random PP, or an OOP preflop caller who thinks you will fold your AK if he leads. Could even have AK and thinks he's ahead.

I'd reraise to 600 or so and feel happy about getting it AI if necessary.

It's not double the pot BTW

It's a slight overbet (210 vs 195 in the pot).

And iggy is right - reads would help.

My default play would be to push, assuming villain is a moron. Ideally I'd want to just raise, but a decent raise would be to ~800, leaving less than 600 behind, so I'd just push over the top on the flop.

Need to know what the buy in here is, and any sort of read would be nice. However, i would just push. You are very likely ahead so readless you have to raise, and as said above any raise less than a push would leave u committed anyways.

in most low buy in games i would just be looking to shove this flop. the donk bet into you is almost never a hand that beats TT here, and a shove can often induce loose calls from players that think youre overbet shoving AQ or something like that.

Iggy nailed it. I assume low buy-in, the play screams donk. Check to see how he doubled if you werent watching, see if you can get anything out. Youre looking for a reason to think a lead in bet is VERY strong, otherwise youre pushing. The other option is to call and push any nonscare card. The thing that concerns me is his range is almost definitly the following:
76/65/45: pair with open ended
A7/A6/A5.. maybe A4: pair with overcard, esp TPTK, seems like he wants your AK/AQ/ etc out now.
*7: Top pair and he wants you gone

Random 2: Just thinks youll fold or raise such a [censored] flpo, either you have an overpair or you missed.

Based on this, you might shove to have him call with a 50/50 where taking one off when you know the range could allow you to get your money in with only 1 card to come instead. The danger is that though youve narrowed his hand down, there a TON of scare cards. I prolly shove flop, but since i havent invested much in a donkfest and blinds are so low, i might shove any non A873 flop. I know some other cards could hit him but those are the ones that scare me most. Shove 85% call 15%.
