Wouldn't a fold on the end be more standard when you are playing the board, can be beat with one card, and your opponent goes all in?
I don't play tournaments. |

UTG's play makes sense if he had J-10: makes top pair and a gutshot draw on the flop, calls the pot-sized bet with nine outs on the turn, and pushes with the nut straight on the river.
As far as how you played the hand, everything looks standard up until the river. If the villain is a maniac who would do this with lesser hands than the jack-high straight, call. If he looks solid and his push on the river is knowing you might have something you'd call, you may have to fold. Edit: oops, forgot your 8 was counterfeited. I would fold. He may just be trying to get you off the hand and playing the board, but if a hand he played makes sense, he most likely has the one card that beats you. |
