100NL: KINGS
I'm having a bad day, but I'm up $346.45 with kings today. But here's a couple of hands where I chose to drop them, and I'm wondering if the decision was good or bad (without being results oriented, but I will post the results later).
The villian in the first hand is a TAG. Over a small sample, I have him at 12/7. His 3-bet range should be small anyways; and even smaller due to the fact that a tight player (me) is raising UTG+1. Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 9 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter) SB: $25.10 BB: $64.00 UTG: $124.70 Hero (UTG 1): $121.60 MP1: $113.10 MP2: $111.05 MP3: $85.60 CO: $98.50 BTN: $2.80 Preflop: Hero is dealt K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (9 Players) UTG folds, Hero raises to $4.00, MP1 folds, MP2 raises to $12.00, 2 folds, BTN calls all-in for $2.80, 2 folds, Hero calls $8.00 Flop: ($28.30) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 Players - 1 All-In) Hero checks, MP2 bets $21.00, Hero folds Uncalled bet of $21.00 returned to MP2 Turn: ($28.30) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players - 1 All-In) River: ($28.30) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players - 1 All-In) Pot Size: $28.30 ($1.40 Rake) I haven't played too many hands against the villian in the second hand. But he has the happy face poker-tracker icon, which usually means "decent/small winner". His stats are 18/7. Re: 100NL: KINGS
I don't think I'm folding the first one, but I'm fine with how you played the second. What do you think his 3 bet range is here in hand 1, maybe j,j+ a,k? I think he c'bets with all of these on that flop.

Re: 100NL: KINGS
Hand 1. I would lead on the flop. It is unlikely that villain has AA. Not saying it is not possible, just unlikely. 'tis possible he hit a full house on the turn or river.
Hand 2. The question is whether villain has AA or not. If not, it is possible he has Ad Xd. So the question is what are the percentages that he will have AA or AdXd? Of course, 88 or 99 are possible too, same with TT, JJ, QQ, KK and AA. I would have pushed all-in on the flop. |

Re: 100NL: KINGS
In each case it looks like you are playing KK for set value?
In other words why are you calling the preflop reraises if you are going to give up on low flops? |

Re: 100NL: KINGS
Wouldn't a %Cbet be helpful here? Do you keep that up in your hud?

Re: 100NL: KINGS
The second I don't mind. Villain wants stacks in here and he's got aces or nines more often than he's got queens.
Why no 4-bet preflop in the first one? I think that would be my preference as you still should be ahead of his 3-betting range at this point. |

Re: 100NL: KINGS
I don't like either fold, especially the first. If you call preflop and there is no Ace on the flop, I'm certainly not folding to a CB.

Re: 100NL: KINGS
honestly, hand 1 isn't THAT bad. especially since you get to see the SD. I may or may not play it the same, but you can't really ask for a better flop for your KK...he also seemed to bet an awful lot on that flop. is he putting you squarely on a strong PP?
if not, his hand just looks like AK trying to push somebody out. i think you see QQ/AK/AQ here enough to make this a call. |
