How does AC come into existence?
I looked over the FAQ in the sticky, and this question didn't seem to be answered.
1. Vote AC into existence? 2. Armed Revolution? 3. Something else I cannot think of? It seems like it can't be through voting, since that necessitates and legitimates government. It seems most likely to come to pass through violence, although that seems to contradict many of the philosophies of AC as well. What am I missing? |

I think the general idea is that society will gradually convert to a voluntary existence. A progression of "enlightenment" or something similar. State to minarchy to anarchy. I think that even the strongest AC advocates would say instant or too rapid a change in a society unprepared for AC would create chaos |

Re: How does AC come into existence?
Recognition of the masses that government is illegitimate. Once that is achieved pretty much any route you take will work.

When people like you stop being apologists for destructive evil coercive monopolies we'll have made a good start.

Re: How does AC come into existence?
Let's say the masses recognize that government is illegitimate. 60% of the people are on your side, and 40% are on the side of government. Now what? Let's assume that the government still controls about 75% of the military.

Re: How does AC come into existence?

destructive evil coercive monopolies [/ QUOTE ] Only two of those words objectively describe government. Of the two that do, - Coercion must exist under AC unless all people are goodwilled (in which case the government couldn't be evil). A trivial example of this is the need to collect payments, provide justice, and enforce contracts. - Monopolies will exist under AC (or at least entities large enough to distort fair market prices, and make inefficient bureaucratic decisions) So your post is irrelevant, in addition to being rude, arrogant, and poorly constructed. |

[/ QUOTE ] AC doesn't come in existence, it ceases to exist. All societies, if they can be called that are, at the start, by definition, ACist. Natural development and the demand for better answers make some form of government emerge from those chaotic, jungle like, primitive associations. |
