25NL: Lost on the River
My main issue with this hand was the river. I probably have the best hand but I also don't want to call a PSB. Clearly no worse hands will call, although a lot of better hands might fold. What should I be doing on fifth street and why?
Pokerstars, villain has been moderately tight. He raises the button to 4x the BB, I call from the SB w/ J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] . I've hardly been calling at all from the blinds this session. BB folds. Flop Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I check, villain bets 3/4 pot. I call. Turn 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I think for a while, trying to give off a "I got there" timing tell and check. He checks behind. River is the 10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I lead 1/2 pot. Thoughts? |

Re: 25NL: Lost on the River
I guess the turn and river are ok, but I don't like the preflop or flop call.

Re: 25NL: Lost on the River
PF doesnt look good at all. cold calling a btn raise isnt great.
anyhoo, disregarding pf- i would b/3b flop alot or c/r. c/c is okay as well. if your trying to sell the flush i would probably bet a little larger than 1/2 pot. if you want to full out bluff, c/r-ing this river might be an option. i would also consider checking- i think we are good here an okay % of the time. probably check/folding, but i think he checks behind a decent amt of the time. i think that he calls a river bet almost always with a Q. |
