Default Folding top2 against tag - nl200

btn is 29/17/4. I dont think he is very agressive against me, and I do think he respects me. sb is a donk. Im not sure about my turn bet, cause i Know if btn raise or call me, i'm behind him, so the bet was basically to valuebet the sb fish. Maybe I should have bet less. Comments on all street are aprecciated.

pre-flop: 4.5x bb is to large for a standard raise.

Flop: I like your TPTK bet.

Turn: Hit your 2 pair nice bet

River:What kind of fold is that :s.

At first I thought "zomg call". I usually do too but thinking more about the hand...

I'm going to ignore him having AA/JJ/TT. Those hands almost always 3bet from this guy.

I can totally see him calling the flop with a draw like KQ (which btw, probably doesn't reraise preflop but definitely cc's otb). On the turn with the total rainbow board and you continuing to show massive strength I can see him just calling with the nuts.

I mean, it sucks because your river check looks weak but given your read I don't think he floats you TWICE in a 3way pot on that board.

And like I said, I want to say "zomg snap call you have top two" and I can think of only one real hand that beats you which matches his actions up to this point (KQ).

However, I have a hard time figuring out what beats us that makes the same play. Therefore I don't think the fold is totally atrocious, but unless I had ironclad reads on the guy I don't think I could pull it off.

NINJA EDIT: Looking at it again, his AF of 4 is interesting, but that doesn't mean he goes crazy on the river though. What's your sample size on this guy? And his river AF too if you don't mind.

no.

OP - what makes you think you are behind if you get called on the turn? As i see it river is a push or at least a c/c. Do you really think this kind of player chases an oesd (twice) or doesn't raise a set inbetween?

I have him at 2k hands or so, and he is decent but not great. Most of this hands are datamined.

Villian doesnt 3bet often, and im playing standard tag so far. I like to check to induce bets a lot, and this guy alread noticed this and started to be more passive against me. This is the first big pot we played.

TT is definitily on his range there. The problem with this hand is that i really cant put him on a large enought range that makes me call. He is never bluffing river.

Im my opinion he has KQ a very high % of time, a set a lower % of time and 2pairs even lower % of time.

I agree that a set would want to put it in before river, most likely on turn, but 2pairs would want that too, so if he would slowplay something between those 2, is more likely to do that with a set imo. But than again, his hand look so much like KQ....

Anyway, i could be overthinking this... my play is really bad there?

you're folding top 2 on a non-straight/non-flush river getting 3:1 when villain has shown no resistance at all

yeah it's pretty bad
