3 First place finishes in last 15 attempts
I am still somewhat new to the online scene. I'm a lowstakes tourney player.
This past weekend, I played in fifteen $10 + $1, 45 man SnGs, and I cashed four times: three first place finishes, and one fifth place finish. First place paid $171 and fifth was $27. I don't have as much experience as most of you, so I just want to put this into perspective and ask: How big of an accomplishment is this? Mathematically, an average player would finish first, one out of 45 attempts in these tournaments. Is it pretty good and a sign that I'm a good player? I do understand the sample is too small to indicate long term results. Or is it nothing too out of the ordinary as far as variance goes, and every player has results like this every now and then? Or is this a rare occurance, and something that I should be really proud of? I know it isn't a lifetime accomplishment or anything, but what do u guys think? |

I think it is very likely you are a good player based on these results. Move up to $50 SNGs and report your findings.

[/ QUOTE ] Some quick (honest) lessons for you: 1) Posting anything in BBV is dangerous 2) Posting anything related to a tournament in BBV is even more dangerous 3) Asking a serious question in BBV is like going to a comedy club, sitting in the front row, waiting until there's a brief moment of silence after everybody laughs at a joke, then saying to your date, really loudly: "I don't get it!"... The abuse will be brutal... Cashing in 4/15 45's - good stuff. Winning 3 of 'em - solid brag. No way it's a large enough sample size to say anything about long-term results. |
