Default Top set misplayed?

Villian is 30/4/0.4 over 250 hands. I have not seen him check raise the flop once.

I've already had a similar situation where I shoved top set on a connected flop (9-10-J with a flush draw), and ran into a flopped straight. After the check raise on the flop, I thought a straight or two pair were a big part of villians range. I misinterpreted the blocking bet on the river as being weak, hence the shove. Spew?

This is why I have nightmares raise/folding vs a tight player when I river something like top/2nd set and it also completes flush/other draw.

Just jam the flop, river is HUGE spew.

Is that river shove for value or is it a bluff?

shove flop. if you thought he was weak then why did you shove? what hands are you hoping to fold out that vil can have and be block betting with that you dont already beat? i think i would just call here unless i had a good read that he had a lower set, two pair, in which case id prob value raise instead of shoving.

The check raise on the flop froze me as he had been pretty passive check-calling flops and turns. I really thought I would be looking at a hand like 6s7x or 8x10s. I dont think he calls shove with <Ks

In retrospect, should have just pushed chips in on flop.

Easy flop shove. Limp/call is often smaller pocket pairs and a bunch of suited hands, most of which you have well beaten.
