Default 10NL - small blind dilemmas

im starting to play 6max 10NL and i have trouble with how to go ahead playing marginal/bad hands in the small blind when it is folded around from UTG to me.

hands like Qd2d, or like Jd5d.....

just bad hands, and whether or not i fold them or raise.

i dunno does anyone have suggestions for small blind play?
or and links...?

thanks

Default Re: 10NL - small blind dilemmas

In the situation you describe, almost everything I do is based on BB's play and stack size. Against unknown opponents, I play straight forwardly. I tend to be fairly tight preflop since we'll be OOP for the rest of the hand, but I raise strong hands, and fold weak ones. I will fold the marginal hands you list in this situation (vs. an unknown).

On the other hand, against the 16/12 nit types, I will raise those hands without thinking about it. Against huge calling stations I might limp a hand every once in a while, though not often (hands like small PPs, suited connectors, etc.). You'll find more help in the stickies at the top of the forum. I have found a lot of great advice in the threads that are linked there.
