Hero (BB): $10.00
UTG: $11.95
MP: $3.00
CO: $5.40
BTN: $9.70

Preflop: Hero is dealt J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (6 Players)
UTG folds, MP calls $0.10, 2 folds, SB calls $0.05, Hero checks

Flop: ($0.30) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 Players)
SB checks, <font color="red">Hero bets $0.20</font>, MP folds, SB calls $0.20

Turn: ($0.70) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)

EDIT: no reads, BTW..first hand at the table

do you guys like a check behind on the turn instead...I know that's easy to see when you get check raised..but I was thinking about checking behind before I decided to raise thinking it would build the pot for my draw and I probably have the best hand anyway, and he could be drawing

Against an unknown i just fold this, no reason to get involved here since you're probably seeing a raggedy 2p or the straight here. Plenty of time to get a few hands in and pick a better spot against this guy when you have a read.

Against an unknown player I am going to bet here just like you did. If called I would then check behind on the river. I would fold here, but that may be just my nitty side coming through. While there is good implied odds here, I am just not sure that you aren't playing for half the pot if you call and the seven or two hits.
