villain is tightish, but has been pretty passive PF so far. he's runnning 25/7 over several hundered hands this session. he hasnt 4bet yet and i dont recall him ever 3betting for that matter. not very good at bet sizing/pot comtrol etc, but has a clue and has showndown only solid hands so far - not the bluffy type.
i had been playing tighter than i normally do, but had still been 3 betting quite a bit - maybe 19/17ish Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter) SB: $69.05 Hero (BB): $149.35 UTG: $128.30 MP: $160.75 CO: $100.00 BTN: $141.20 Preflop: Hero is dealt K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 Players) UTG folds, MP raises to $3.50, 3 folds, Hero raises to $14.00, MP raises to $25.00, Hero calls $11.00 Not sure what the best line is here. Pushing and calling both look redic strong. I thouhgt it would be pretty easy for almost anyone to get away from QQ/JJ or AK (and i have a hard time believing this guy would actually 4bet AK anyway) if i pushed, so i called. is there any merit to making it like $55? do we have to call a push if we 5 bet? Flop: ($50.50) J ![]() ![]() ![]() pretty much the shittiest flop imaginable. what now? |

nah best flop for u.
c/r AI and watch his AA get turbo mucked. or alternately bet 30 and then shove the turn on any, any, any card but an A. He has AA and I dont see how he could call you down. |

[/ QUOTE ] this was actually my first thought... but if he bets, half his stack is in the middle. is he really folding there? (we'll talk more about this later) and if i lead i think any hand he has is raising me on the flop. (aside from AK but i think AK is a pretty small part of his range). i dunno... trying to push bad players off AA in a 4bet pot seems pretty spewy. if someone on here posted a hand where they 4 bet with AA, wouldnt everyone be saying "get it in on the flop or turn. DONT FOLD!"? |

given how u played it preflop i dont mind a fold here unless u like variance cuz its super close you shouldnt be trying to get AA to fold btw. We usually hope for these boards to stack AA not make AA fold

The crai sounds good in theory, but it looks more like a combo draw or AK diamonds then a set.

FWIW, I doubt he pots the flop here a ton. if he does, then just fold...but if he bets like 30, you should be able to move him off AA pretty easy. I understand people saying dont 4bet and then fold AA, but im sure if we showed a competent villain c/r us here after we bet 30 the consensus would be to snap fold. I sure would. |
