Ok, not sure how badly I played this hand, i just couldnt really put him on anything other than a draw or a baby pair which happened to be an overpair...and this guy has definately called all the way to the end with an 8 high and then tried to bluff at it...he's pretty loose, and not all there...what would you guys think about doing here?

If you put him on a baby pair you put him on a hand which could not fail to be an overpair to the flop unless it was 22 or had you drawing dead (33) or dead to running aces (44)?
With your read (apart from the baby pair thing) it isn't horrible, but it might be better to call the flop and reevaluate on the turn. You still have plenty of chips left and if he does have a hand he's not giving you credit for a 3 with that flop push. Was this a 6 man with 2 paid and you're on the bubble, or is this ITM? If it's on the bubble - fold to the raise on the flop. ITM - go with your read, but don't try to bluff a donk off a hand - it doesn't work. |
