Default Some newb questions - NL micro stakes

I'm wondering what the proper bankroll is for .10/.25 NL and .25/.50 NL. As well - I play on Stars and the default buy-in for .10/.25 is $15. Should I be buying in for the max ($25) or for the $15?

Thanks!

It is usually suggested that you buy in for the full table limit, but not putting more than 5% of your roll at risk.

So for example at .10/.25 NL, a bankroll of $500 would be advisable, max buy in £25 which is 5% of $500.

There's nothing wrong with buying in for less but there are many more disadvantages.

Hope that helps.

i always max buy in and when i lose a couple bucks i reload to teh max for those times when i get it all in preflop with KK but dont have a full stack that sucks. 20 max buy ins is recommended but i often play this limits on Pokerstars and I would say 250 is sufficient for the 25NL game and I would recommend about 600 for .25-.5NL

Buy-in for the max unless you are deliberately playing a short stack strategy. If you don't know what "short stack strategy" is then you're obviously not playing it and you should be buying in for the max.

Standard is 20 buy-ins for any level. So $500 for $25NL and $1000 for $50NL. However, that's somewhat fluid. If you're really expert at a level and confident in your game, you can get by with 15 and maybe even 10. When moving up many players like to have a cushion and only move with with 30 buy-ins for the new level. OTOH, some players like to take shots with 10 buy-ins at a new level and move down quickly if things go bad to start.
